SNMPv2 uses community names for read and write access which are sent across the wire in clear text.

SNMP version 3 was developed to overcome the weaknesses of SNMPv2.

Solution

The command to disable SNMPv2 is as followsn

ProCurve Switch(config)# snmpv3 onlyn
